Dr. James A. Forrest

The Board of Education appointed Mr. Pirner the Principal of the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center in July 2025. Previously Mr. Pirner served as the principal of Chopticon High School for five years. Mr. Pirner holds an AA from College of Southern Maryland, a BA in History and a Masters in Teaching from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and is currently working on his PhD in Educational Leadership with Notre Dame of Maryland.
At the Tech Center, we teach students exactly what they need in order to be successful in the real world. The tools and technology we use at the Tech Center are exactly the tools and technology students will be using on the job, when they graduate. And the skills we teach at the Tech Center are exactly the skills students will be using on the job, when they graduate.
In addition to specific skill acquisition, at the Tech Center, we especially emphasize a strong work ethic, respect for everyone, and GRIT; the exact values that will lead to success in the workplace and in life.
